The word of the day is congratulations! People who can forgive always amaze me. I have been following the death of Davy Blackburn’s pregnant wife who was killed by intruders in their home last week. The Indiana pastor speaks a strong message…especially at this time of the year. I don’t know if I could walk his path with such grace…but I would hope there would be forgiveness somewhere way down in my heart.
“Bitterness would destroy my Soul,” Indiana Pastor, Davy Blackburn, explains why he forgives his wife’s killers.
Blackburn said that the family is feeling rage, loneliness and confusion, but that they’re choosing forgiveness, which he said is a “daily decision.” “If you wait to feel like you’re ready to forgive, then you’re never really going to be able to forgive,” Blackburn said. So today, I choose forgiveness, and I pray that tomorrow I can wake up and choose forgiveness by the power of Jesus Christ.”
“We’re going to have to wake up every single day and face that decision over and over and over for the rest of our lives.”
“So today, I choose forgiveness, and I pray that tomorrow I can wake up and choose forgiveness by the power of Jesus Christ.” Let us all choose the path of forgiveness during the season of thanksgiving.
