The Scriptural passage selected for today is found in Jeremiah 17:10: “I, the Lord, search the heart and examine the mind, to reward a man according to his conduct, according to what his deeds deserve.” The prophet of old faithfully fulfilled his duties as God’s spokesperson to remind His people of their errant ways and the punishment which lay in store for them if they continued. Biblical history records that God followed through with His warnings and the dire consequences. We know God will punish our misdeeds, our sinful conduct; however, as His children, we pray for God’s mercy, not His justice. When we sin, we’re to repent and ask His forgiveness, believing that He will. Let us go through a daily cleansing of our hearts and minds. Amen!
