Thousands of people in Louisiana have lost everything…some have compared the devastation as worse than Katrina.
First Baptist Church Magee has the fellowship hall ready for relief items.
We have learned that what is needed are clothes…but it doesn’t stop there…what the people have informed our church is that large plastic covered totes are needed. The request is for clothes to be sorted (women, men, girls, boys etc) …place the clothing in one of the big totes…label the tote and bring to FBC. Susan Hall will be at the Family Life Center Thursday -Saturday to accept donations. Susan’s number is 601-955-9951. Feel free to call her or contact her by FB messenger if you have any questions.
Another major need is pet food….please do the same thing…put the bags of pet food in a big tote (with top) and label.
Now, this is not all that is needed. But, our contact has asked that we work certain items at a time. Later additional items will be needed…but right now…tubs, clothing and pet food are at the top of the list
Remember, good clothing is needed…don’t send junk…that may sound rude but during the Katrina situation, people just dumped old, soiled, and dirty clothes. Thank you for thinking of others. Our Louisiana people have always stood firm by the needs of Mississippi…let our mission spirit shine.
The spirit of mission lives in our area. Blessings
