About two months ago, I realized MageeNews.com Facebook page was nearing the 5,000 mark. That is right…5,000 signed up on our newsfeed. I kept watching the numbers ….we were getting closer and closer to the goal I had set! Thanks to you our MageeNews.com and Magee Facebook page readers…we reached our goal at noon today (Monday)!
When i started this “watch,” I made a deal with myself when we reached this goal, MageeNews.com would make a donation. (to what I wasn’t sure)…but when we reached the goal the first thing that popped in my mind was YOU the readers…and what better way to thank people for reading than making a donation to the Magee Public Library!
When we hit the number, Patrice called the library and we headed downtown to present the check to the “library ladies.”

So…I’m setting another goal of 5,500 and I’ll make a donation to “I don’t know what” when reached…so if you have not “liked” the MageeNews.com Facebook page, please go to the page and click like!  We constantly update on both the website and the FB page…but, I’m just saying….you get the full meal deal on MageeNews.com.

WOW! Congratulations for hitting that mark — and thank you for choosing Magee Library as your recipient. I all but grew up in that library, and this coming Saturday I’ll be there to read from, sell, and sign copies of my new book, “Katrina, Mississippi: Voices from Ground Zero.” Will send news item later, but this Breaking News grabbed my attention. So proud of you!
