New Year’s Eve brought extra work to the city crew and MDOT with the break of a water line under the asphalt on 1st Avenue near the intersection of Choctaw Street. The section of street is part of a newly paved area in the city by MDOT. The break occurred late Sunday afternoon.

Crews will continue work on the area. Number of people and businesses affected was not available.
