The City of Magee would like to inform the public the reason for the delay in the repairing the water leaks due to the colder weather experienced the past few days.
The city can not repair any water lines until other service lines are marked. New law requires everyone to call 811 before you dig. Any digging done before lines are marked will result in hefty fines if a line is accidentally hit. The call has been made to 811 and the city is awaiting the approval from “call before you dig” and lines to be marked. In addition the city had to contact MDOT due to the lines being on a road MDOT is responsible for. MDOT is ready to oversee job once digging is allowed. As soon as the approval is given from call before you dig the city will begin immediately repairing the lines.
