By James Davis
The Scriptural passage for this morning is found in Matthew 26:41: “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.” As the Christian is well-aware, there is a constant, ongoing battle between the flesh and spirit. We are all faced with temptations on every hand. Only through study of God’s Word and prayer are we able to withstand and resist the wiles of the devil. When we do sin, we’re to repent, asking God for forgiveness in order to fulfill our part of the covenant. To watch is to be cautious and on guard in order to be able to resist temptation and flee from it. The Word of God for the people of God; thanks be to God! Amen!
Happy Saturday! Can we say we are ready for the Lord’s return? Let us be found watching and waiting.
