*According to Magee Police Chief, Christopher Grantham is still on the run. Anyone who has any information is to contact the Magee Police Department or Covington County Sheriff Department. Grantham is a resident of Covington County. Covington County Sheriff Department is assisting in the search.
At approximately 8:45am this Wednesday morning July 29th, Magee Police Department initiated a traffic stop of a red Dodge Challenger for a traffic violation. The car fled from Magee Officers and Simpson County Sheriff’s Deputies southbound on US Hwy 49 turning onto New Hope Rd. After turning onto New Hope Rd. the driver, identified as Christopher Grantham, threw a backpack out of the window containing a large amount of Marijuana and a large amount of Methamphetamine. Shortly afterwards, the car crashed on New Hope Rd. and Grantham fled the scene on foot. He remains at large and is currently listed as “WANTED” by the Magee Police Department on numerous Felony charges. Grantham is out on bond from a previous Felony drug arrest in February.
