Wanted Alabama Fugitive captured by Police

On July 7, 2016 at approximately 0005 hours, Officers were conducting a safety check point at 49 Highway and Goodwater Road in Magee.

 

Jeffrey Patterson approached the check point, making a u turn at a high rate of speed and fled from officers.

DUI Officer Shane Fewell and Magee PD officers gave chase north bound on 49 Highway. Patterson turned around close to the city limits of Mendenhall and returned to Magee on Hwy 49 with officers still in pursuit. Officers chased the vehicle through Magee into Covington and then Smith County, where Patterson exited the vehicle and was arrested after a short foot pursuit by the officers.

 

 

Magee Officers were assisted by the Simpson County Sheriff’s Office, Covington County Sheriff’s Office, and the Smith County Sheriff’s Office.

 

Patterson was found to be a wanted fugitive from Alabama Department of Corrections and Baldwin County Alabama. Patterson is currently in the Magee Jail under numerous traffic violations, as well as Felony Fleeing, Felony Child Endangerment, drug paraphernalia charges, and a hold for Alabama authorities.
Chief Randy Crawford praised the work of everyone involved enabling the capture of this wanted fugitive. Chief Crawford stated that this arrest was a direct culmination of each agencies working together for the safety of the public.
