Walter Herald Brooks passed away on Monday, September 13, 2021, in Jackson, MS, at the age of 83. He was born to Walter and Rree (Ponder) Brooks on March 31, 1938, in Simpson County, Mississippi.
He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force from 1956 until 1963. He will be remembered for his big heart and his willingness to always help others. He had a great sense of humor and always had a smile on his face.
He is survived by his son, Brian Brooks; sister, Carolyn Crawford; three grandsons; one great-grandchild and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Angela Brooks East and sister, Brenda Brooks.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at Tutor Funeral Home in Mendenhall on Friday, September 17, 2021, from 11:00 am until 12:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery in Mendenhall with Bro. Charles Finch officiating.
