Paul E Bryant of Bridgeport, MS passed away on Friday, May 2, 2025 at Magee General Hospital in Magee MS. He was 85 years old. Paul was born on July 2, 1939 in Simpson County, Mississippi. After serving in the United States Air Force, he returned home and settled in Bridgeport where he went to work for the Department of Veterans Affairs as an electrician. He eventually retired from there after 30 years of service. He spent his retirement years gardening, studying the genealogy of his family and taking care of his many kin in the Bridgeport community. He was a devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather and took great pleasure in spoiling all of his grands.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hal and Robbie Bryant, his sister June Fitzpatrick, granddaughter Keri Tyre, and grandson Eric Bryant.
Survivors include his soulmate of many years, Jeanette Dickerson Bryant, his caretaker and true love, to which his family will remain eternally grateful, Patty Phillips (Robin) of Georgetown, Melissa Mullins (Paul) of Mendenhall, his sons Kelly Tyre (Melinda) of North Carolina, Trey Bryant (Melissa) of Pinola, Ms, Danny Bryant (Lisa) of Bridgeport, Ms and daughter Paula Williamson (Glen) of Mendenhall. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and numerous great grand- children, brothers Keith Bryant of Pinola, Bobby Bryant (Brenda) of Aberdeen, Scotland, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 5, 2025, from 9am until 12:00 pm at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mendenhall. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 pm at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Bridgeport, with burial services to follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Brother Larry Mangum will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
