The Scriptural passage selected for today is found in Jeremiah 6:16: “This is what the Lord says: ‘Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.'” The “weeping” prophet Jeremiah delivered these words from God to His people who were in a very precarious position. Times were bleak for the nation. God asked the people to keep focused on the straight and narrow, look for the old landmarks, follow Him as Lord and Savior, and turn from the worship of idols. God was their only hope for peace and deliverance just as He is our only hope today. Let us study this very important stage in ancient biblical history and learn from it.
