I, James Williams, would like to announce my candidacy for Supervisor District 2 of Simpson County MS. Some of you know me as “Slim”, some of you know me as “Big Easy”, but for those of you that don’t know me at all, I am James R. Williams. I received my education at Magee High School, graduating as the top basketball player in the State of Mississippi. I received a scholarship to play basketball for the University of Southern, Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Ms. I also received the thousand point club award. I played basketball for USM from 1981 – 1985 where I received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree. I also attended South Florida Community College from 1986 – 1989 where I received a degree in Food Culinary Arts. I also attended the University of Texas A & M at Galveston, Texas in 1999. While attending Texas A & M, I worked for Exxon-Mobile for five years over food and supplies.
I am running for Supervisor District 2 and I would like to earn your vote. I am a businessman and have owned businesses in this area for over 20 years. My first opportunity in business came by the way of a man named Howard Griffith, that took a chance on me and I didn’t let him down. I took over his café in front of Legion Lake and renamed it “Williams Ole Fashion Foods”, turned it into a big and very successful business, from there I moved to D’Lo where I took over the D’Lo Truck Stop Deli and Williams Lunch Box Café. I turned it into a very successful business for many years. I also owned “Williams Circle J” in Mendenhall which is now “Farmer Depot” for 3 years, and I now own “Williams Good Ole Days Buffet and Williams Old-Fashion Hamburger and Pantrout Fish in Prentiss, Ms. I am in my 7th years of ownership of William’s Good Ole Days Buffet, where in 2009 it was named business of the year by the Jeff Davis Co. Chamber of Commerce.
I am well qualified for the job. I know how to get things done. If you elect me for the job I will give you my best, I know what we need in this community because I live here as well.
I am asking for your support to become our next Supervisor District 2 and together work with you to make our community a nicer place to live. One thing I can promise is that when you call me I will answer your call because my number one priority would be to do the job you elected me to do. So on August 4th vote James Williams Supervisor District 2. I wont let you down. I will take great pride in working with you for the betterment of our community. Thanking you in advance for your support.
