JACKSON (WLBT) – Here are the candidates for The End Zone Play of the Week.
The End Zone Play of the Week Nominees
1. Cam Akers to Darius Maberry for TD (Clinton)
– The Arrows faced Madison Central in the Game of the Week. Cam Akers buys time, goes up top to Darius Maberry. 7 helps put 7 on the board for Clinton as the Arrows beat the Jaguars 35 – 30.
2. Rodney Hawkins Jr. pick-six (Brandon)
– The Bulldog playmaker already had a punt return for a TD in the 1st quarter against Terry. He capped the opening frame with a interception return for a touchdown. Brandon blanked Terry 48-0.
3. Tyrique McAfee to RJ Hopkin for game tying TD (Magee)
– The 92nd edition of the Simpson County Super Bowl was a great tilt. Magee trailed with 2 minutes left, but McAfee found Hopkin for the game tying TD. The Trojans force overtime and beat Mendenhall 34-33.
4. Seth Dearman TD (East Rankin Academy)
– Seth shined in a MAIS clash in Pelahatchie. He rushed for 3 touchdowns and tossed for 2 more as the 4-1 Patriots beat 5-0 Tri-County 36-0.
