Virginia & Matt Alexander from Meadville, MS have been chosen as one of ten finalists in Fund the Nations “Fund an Adoption” campaign. The winner will receive the remainder of their adoption costs fully paid for, and the decision is up to public vote. Fund the Nations is a business whose goal is to provide for mission trips, adoptions, and non-profit ministries through designing and selling t-shirts. They have designed a special “Be the Village” adoption shirt in which all of the proceeds will benefit the winning couple.
Matt serves as the pastor of Meadville Baptist Church and Virginia owns a cookie business that she started to help fund their adoption. She grew up in Hazlehurst and has relatives and friends in Magee. Virginia began making iced cookies when she was in high school after seeing a recipe on Magee News! That same recipe is what she uses now to run their business! Because the average price of adoption is $40,000, they cannot do this alone. They are currently in the home study process of their adoption and will soon be awaiting a match from Bulgaria. The couple says that they do not know much about the what the future holds in this adoption, but they know enough. “It is a call that is louder than anything we’ve ever heard. We couldn’t be more excited to be on this journey,” Virginia states.
We are looking to join together in a powerful way to represent our community, our state, and this couple well by voting each day until November 21st, encouraging everyone we know to do the same, and by purchasing one of Fund the Nations adoption shirts. Join this cause to make an eternal difference in the life of this family!
