Virginia Lynn Strausser, 67, of Taylorsville, Mississippi, died Friday, January 10, 2020, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, Mississippi. She was born Friday, February 15, 1952 in Taylorsville, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2020 from 11:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Taylorsville, Mississippi. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, January 12, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home and the Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery. Reverend Stanley Doggett will officiate. Mrs. Strausser retired after thirty plus years of service as a Registered Nurse in the Health Care Industry. She worked at numerous healthcare facilities in the area before her retirement. Mrs. Strausser was a member of the Unity Methodist Church in Center Ridge.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Strausser; and her parents, Andrew Kittrell Delk and Maurine Ainsworth Delk.
Survivors include two sons, Andrew Grissom (Victoria Martin) and James Grissom, both of Taylorsville; five grandchildren, Brianna Traxler (Brandon), Brex Grissom, Allie Grissom, Cambrie Grissom, and Drake Higginbotham; one brother, Tommy Delk (Lyn) of Hattiesburg; one sister, Donna Hankins of Magee; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Traxler, Jason Carey, Phillip McMullan, Thomas Butler, Roger Carey, and Billy Wayne Hankins.
Honorary pallbearer will be Tommy Joe McClellan
