Citizens of Magee,
We are proud to report that violent crime in Magee has decreased by 54.17 percent, and crimes against society have dropped by an incredible 87 percent so far in 2025 compared to the same period in 2024.
While it is not always possible to prevent or catch every person who breaks the law, these results show that having a supportive Board, adding more officers to our streets, using the grants we’ve secured, maintaining proactive patrols, and holding offenders accountable are making a real difference.
But this effort isn’t just ours, it’s yours too. Criminals tend to avoid hard targets. They often prey on those they think are vulnerable, won’t call the police or press charges. When you stay alert and report suspicious activity, you help us drive crime away from our neighborhoods.
Crime may never disappear completely, but together, we can continue to slow it down and protect our community.
The moment a community stops making excuses for crime and starts standing together, the streets become safer.
Chief Denis J. Borges
