A call came in to the Magee Police Department around 0338 Thursday morning reporting that a vehicle had left highway 49 near Austin Storage and plunged into a ravine. The vehicle was not visible from the road causing difficulty in discovering the accident.
Three fire department units and 17 personnel participated in the rescue.
The hydraulic extrication tool was necessary for the rescue. Units were on the scene for approximately 45 minutes.
The entrapped subject was removed following the dismantling of the vehicle. AMR treated injuries at the scene and later transported to the hospital.
