On a regular Thursday morning, March 6, 2025, check of the area parks, an employee of the city Rec Department found the bathrooms at the City Park in shambles.

“I don’t understand why people would destroy something that is in place for the citizens of Magee,” stated Mayor Berry.  “We will pursue bringing the culprits to justice,” emphasized Berry.

Recreational Department head Jimmy Zila explained “we have worked to clean up this area because the tennis courts are occupied by students from all over the county and surrounding counties.”

According to Ben Stephens of the Police Department the cameras  are working at the city park.  The film is under review at this time.  There are 5 cameras at the part, one camera was hit by a back hoe, but the other 4 are working.  (Apologies to Ben.  I had been given incorrect information)

If you have any information concerning this incident, please contact the Magee Police Department or City Hall.

The restrooms are now locked and probably will remain that way for an extended period.  The repair of the bathrooms will be costly.

Plans are to place porta-potties for the remainder of the tennis season.
