USM Alumni Association Announces Date for 2015 Homecoming Festivities
The University of Southern Mississippi Alumni Association has announced that festivities for Homecoming 2015 will occur on Saturday, Oct. 17, when the Golden Eagle football team battles Conference-USA rival University of Texas at San Antonio at M.M. Roberts Stadium.
Each fall, Southern Miss hosts its Homecoming weekend, a university tradition, and festivities begin as early as Monday and continue through Sunday evening with involvement from all areas of campus.
“Because of a connection to their alma mater, alumni of this great institution return to Southern Miss year after year for the University’s highly-anticipated Homecoming weekend,” said Jerry DeFatta, executive director of the Southern Miss Alumni Association. “We hope this year’s Homecoming celebration will serve as invitation for all Golden Eagles to return home to their alma mater, and as a result, remain engaged with Southern Miss.”
A few of the many events surrounding the annual Homecoming celebration are the 16th Annual Southern Miss Alumni Homecoming Golf Tournament, the prestigious Alumni Hall of Fame Banquet and Awards Ceremony and Business Meeting, an African American Alumni Brunch, concerts, parade, tailgating and much more.
For a full list of Homecoming events, Golden Eagle alumni and fans are encouraged to visit the upcoming events section of SouthernMissAlumni.com to view the weekend’s schedule as events are finalized.
