U.S. Army Sergeant Speaks to SCTC Polymer Science Students

Simpson County Technical Center’s (SCTC) polymer science students recently received a visit from U.S. Army Sgt. Billy Wilson.

During his visit, Wilson demonstrated how polymers play a role in dental laboratories for making removable prosthetics. Students learned how polymers are used in the construction of complete and partial dentures, as well as maxillofacial prostheses, orthodontic retainers, and temporary crowns.

Johnson informed students about the U.S. Army’s Scholarship program, which covers the tuition for dental and many other programs in exchange for serving in the military.

SCTC’s polymer science program is under the instruction of Dick Wendt.
