On November 29, 2024, at approximately 12:39 AM, officers were dispatched to an address off Raleigh Drive for a report of a male experiencing an overdose.
Upon arrival, officers found the individual unconscious with snoring respirations.
Officers Dani Bounds and Brad Boykins quickly administered Narcan, which successfully revived the individual.
EMS arrived shortly after and the individual began to regain consciousness. He was subsequently transported to Magee General Hospital for further treatment.
This incident underscores the vital importance of ongoing training, particularly in the use of Narcan, a lifesaving tool in the fight against narcotics overdoses.
We commend officers Bounds, Boykins and Covington ambulance service for their quick response, dedication, and commitment to protecting lives in our community.
