Two Fatality Wreck On HWY 49 in Mendenhall

Sunday, July 12, 2020 at approximately 7:15 PM,  a two car wreck resulting in two fatalities happened on highway 49 at the junction of Highway 540 and Highway 49 in Mendenhall.

According to Mendenhall Policeman Allen Moore, two jeeps (red & black) were involved in the accident.  The black jeep was crossing from 540 to Highway 49.  The red jeep was traveling south bound on highway 49 at the time of the accident.

Mendenhall PD reported, Mary Robinson Homes and Willie Ray Williams both of Monticello were killed. From all accounts, Homes was dead at the scene and Williams died later at Simpson General Hospital.
