Around 7:39pm tonight one earthquake struck around the Nissan Plant or 3.7 miles southwest of Canton and measured 3.2 magnitude. At 8:08pm another earthquake measuring 3.0 magnitude hit approx. 5 miles southwest of Canton.
Largest earthquake to hit Mississippi was in 1931 and registered a 4.6 magnitude near Belzoni. Several buildings were damaged.
No damage has been reported at this time.
