The Scriptural passage selected for today is found in Psalm 118:8: “It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man.” The psalmist enjoyed close communion with God, his Maker. He knew the promises man can make to fool and entice, leading to disappointment and confusion. Trusting in the Lord, however, will lead to success and confirmation. “Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care? Precious Savior, still our refuge, take it to the Lord in prayer! Do your friends despise, forsake you?
Take it to the Lord in prayer! In His arms He’ll take and shield you;
