(May 28, 1944 – September 20, 2017)

Truitt Allen Benton, 73, of Mendenhall, MS passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at his home in Mendenhall. He was born Sunday, May 28, 1944.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 22, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Mendenhall. Burial will follow in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Mendenhall. Bro. Rodney Anderson and Bro. Charles Ray Burnham will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements (601)847-4401.
Mr. Benton was a member of First Baptist Church of Mendenhall, where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. Mr. Benton was a devoted husband of fifty-five years. Mr. Benton had a love for agriculture,and in prior years was a leader with the Jr. Livestock Association and 4-H Club.
Mr. Benton is preceded in death by his parents Tillis Benton and Minnie P. Benton.
Mr. Benton is survived by his wife of fifty-five years Maggie Benton; Daughters – Alaina Sullivan, Hope Allen (Anthony), Anita Jane Wilson and Terri Fewell (Duane);Sister – Barbara Banes (Irvin); Grandchildren – Katie Allen, Jesse Allen, Brady Wilson, Bailey Wilson, Bethany Fewell, Anson Fewell and Emma Kate Fewell.
