Senior and Homecoming night was the setting for Friday’s night game between Magee Trojans and Crystal Springs Tigers.
For Magee seniors this could be the last game to be played on Trojan field.
Senior football players were recognized before the game along with their parents.
Both teams were off to a slow start with no points scored in the first quarter.Second quarter both teams would find the end zone. Magee scored first with 7:35 left in half. 2-point conversion was good and Trojans led 8-0. Crystal Springs did not take long to answer. 5:58 left in half Tigers scored and 2-point conversation was good to tie the score 8-8. Magee scored two more times before the end of the first half bringing the score 24-8 going into half time.
Homecoming festivities were held at half time and Ny’Kerria Traxler was crowned as homecoming queen.
Second half Trojans had no problem finding the end zone several more times and increased their score to forty-six points. Crystal Springs did score one more time. Trojans would win the district game by a score of 46-16.
This week will end regular season play. Magee is scheduled to play McLaurin. Due to a fire earlier this month at McLaurin, the game has been moved to North West Rankin field.
