Magee Trojans defeated McLaurin Tigers by a score of 7-4 to remain undefeated in district play Thursday, April 5, 2018.

Tigers would score three runs in the first inning. Magee answered back int he bottom of the inning with a lead-off hit by Zack Teater another hit by Dalton Cockrell before Timon Kennedy hit a 3 run Home-run. An error would score one run for Magee.

McLaruin evened things up at four in the top of the second inning. Magee would take the lead back in the third inning with two runs on a single with a 1-2 count by Seth Russell.

Dalton Cockrell toed the rubber for the Trojans. Cockrell allowed three hits and four runs over three innings, striking out five and walking one. Timon Kennedy came in to pitch after starter Dalton Cockrell had shoulder tightness and shut down McLaurin’s chances.

Timon Kennedy went 2-fo-2 at the plate to lead Magee in hits.

Magee is scheduled to play at Simpson Saturday at 11&1, weather permitting, then back at home Tuesday against Number 1 in 3A, St. Andrews for battle of 6-3A district title. Both Magee and St. Andrews are undefeated in district play.

Magee JV had a successful night against McLaurin as well. A big first inning propels Magee JV to victory over McLaruin by a score of 15-2.
