Magee improves to 17-3 on the year and 8-0 in district play with two wins Tuesday night against McLaurin 16-0 and 16-2. In game one Magee scored 10 runs in the first inning and 6 runs in the second. Hits were made by Zack Teater (2), Chandler Pittman (2), Timon Kennedy (3), Brennon McNair (2), Adam May, Mason Booth, Josh Sanders (2), Seth Russell, and Caleb Brown. Seth Russell picked up the win pitching 3 shutout innings with 6 strikeouts.
In game two Magee scored 10 runs in the first inning, 5 in the second and 1 in the third. Hits for game two were by Zack Teater, Brennon McNair, Timon Kennedy (2), Caleb Brown (2), Luke West, Mason Booth, Josh Sanders, and Thomas Smith (2). Chandler Pittman gets the win pitching with 3 strikeouts and Brennon McNair also had pitching appearance with 3 strikeouts.
Magee moves up in MaxPreps rankings to number 1 in 3A. Next game will be against Ridgeland Saturday at 12&2, JV/V.
Next week Magee will play for district championship when they face district rival and defending 3A State Champion St. Andrews Saints. Tuesday away and Friday at home. Games are at 4:30/6:30.
