Magee Trojan football season comes to end Friday, November 22, 2019 on the road against the Columbia Wildcats. Magee lost by a score of 35-0. A lot of excitement and emotions were riding on the game. With the first contact of the foot and ball on opening kickoff, Columbia’s band would begin to play from the end zone making annoying sounds for the visiting team to the end of regulation. The noise appears to work to Columbia’s advantage.

Magee entered the game with a 10-3 record. The Trojans faced a very physical football team in Columbia. One of the three losses Magee faced during the season was to Columbia. Trojans were not able to get things going on offense scoring zero points in the game. The defense held the wildcats scoreless in the first quarter. Columbia would come to life during the second quarter scoring fourteen points and giving the Wildcats a 14-0 lead heading into half time. Columbia would add two more touchdowns during the third quarter to bring the score 28-0 at the end of the third quarter. Columbia would seal the deal with one more touchdown in the fourth to give the Wildcats a 35-0 win over the Trojans. The loss ended the season for the Trojans. Magee ends their season with a 10-4 record.

Magee had a great run for the 2019 season. The Trojans won 10 games, Coach Dyess received his 200th victory, Trojans advanced to the third round of playoff’s, and the attendance seemed to improve from the Trojan fans. Magee will graduate seniors but there is still a very talented team to return to Trojan filed for the 2020 season. Improvements are being made and the 2020 Trojans will find home to a new field house that is projected to be completed August 2020.
