Trojan’s Eliminated From Playoff’s

Storms in the forecast, dark gray skies above, mother nature made her presence known thirty minutes before game time. The game was delayed 1:15 due to weather.

The referees walked the field several times due to accumulation of water from the rapid rain fall in a short period of time to make sure it was safe for play.

Once the go ahead was given both teams return to the field ready for play.

Wilkerson County won the toss and kicked off to start the game.

11:29 left in the first quarter Wilkerson County would score first. Two-point conversion was good and Wilkerson County would lead 8-0.

Magee would fumble on their own 10-yard line and one play later Wilkerson County would score with 6:02 remaining in the first. The two-point conversion was no good. Wilkerson County leads 14-0.

Magee would intercept ball and run in back to the 3-yard line and R J Hopkins would score on the next play. Kick was good and the score was Wilkerson County 14 Magee 7.

Second quarter with 4:51 left Wilkerson County would find the end zone yet one more time. Two-point conversion was good. Wilkerson County leads 22-7.

With two minutes left in the half #10 Ben Warren would intercept the ball and run fifty yards for a pick six. Trojans would fake extra point and go for two successfully. Score now Wilkerson County 22, Magee 15 to end the half.

The referees would not allow either band to march during half time due to the field conditions. The bands would perform from the stands for halftime entertainment.

Trojans would kick off to start the third quarter. The wet field seems to play against the Trojans, as they would fumble again on their own 25-yard line.

With 5:43 left in the 3rd quarter Wilkerson County would score again to increase the lead 30-15.

The end of the third quarter the rain began to fall heavily once again.

Both teams would score again to bring the final score 38-21. Trojans were eliminated from playoff’s to end their season.

For the seniors this would be it. They will make one last appearance to turn equipment in and clean out lockers. To the seniors, stop take it all in and remember all the days and hours that have been put in to be a Trojan.

Underclassmen, Monday you begin to prepare for the next year. It stars now. The slate has been wiped clean. Work hard in the off-season, and it will pay off next year.
