Magee Trojans traveled a short trip up Hwy 49 to Florence to take on the Eagles in a non-district game Friday, September 10, 2021.

Magee Kicked off to the Eagles to start the game. Magee crossed the goal line first scoring. Trojans led by a score of 7-0.

Florence answered scoring and tying the game with a score of 7-7.

Magee scored again to increase the score by 14-7. Trojans would enter halftime with the lead 14-7.

Second half Florence kicked off to the Trojans.

Third quarter would remain scoreless.

Fourth quarter Magee’s defense would capitalize when the Trojans forced a safety with ten minutes remaining in regulation. Magee was on top by a score of 16-7.

Magee’s quarter back #3 Triston Newsome completed a pass to #6 Kyerston Tucker for a touchdown with seven minutes remaining in the game. Magee’s #21 Gavin Chafin completed the point after attempt to increase the lead by a score of 23-7.

With six minutes remaining Magee’s defense again would have a big play when #20 Jaquez Durr intercepted a Florence pass.

Magee would end the game wining by a score of 23-7.

Coach Jones stated “I thought we had a physical week of practice and that carried over to the game. Defensively we played really well as the game went alone. Offensively we moved the ball up and down the field but must cut penalties and turnovers to get to where we want to be.”

Magee continues their road trip down Hwy 49 South to play the Collins Tigers Friday, September 17, 2021. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
