Magee High School Soccer is underway. The girls are under the direction of new Head Coach Richard Scoggins. Coach Scoggins is a former soccer player and is excited to be in his new role as head coach. Soccer is a sport that is growing, and the girls have had a large number to show interest and make the team this year.
Senior standout and goalie, Jessica Sanford, was injured the evening before the first game. The hope is she will be able to return after Christmas when the team is faced with mostly district play.
The boys are looking to a promising season as well. Dick Wendt is returning as coach for the boys teams. The Trojans have several seniors returning this year. Coach Wendt will look to these guys for leadership.
The teams will be in play several nights each week between now and the end of January with the exception of the holiday breaks. If you have never experienced soccer take the time to come out and see these young men and women in play.
