Treat Street is scheduled for Saturday, October 27, 2018 on the evening of Crazy Day from 5-8 pm.

It’s time for our community’s annual Trick-or-Treating event, “TREAT STREET,” Treat Street is a fun and family-friendly event and the official night for trick-or-treating in Magee. This is a time when businesses and organizations come together to benefit the children of our community and support HealthTrust, the charitable foundation for Magee General Hospital.

For those unfamiliar with the concept of Treat Street, it is designed to look like a city street, using plywood store fronts with a window cut out for treat distribution. Businesses and organizations rent booths and hand out candy and other treats to adorable trick-or-treaters. The booth rental is $35.00 for returning participants and $50.00 for new tenants. Each business/organization has the option to supply its own treats or have HealthTrust supply them. For HealthTrust to supply the treats there is an additional charge of $130.00. Treat Street draws more than 1,200 kids plus their parents and siblings, typically resulting in over 2,400 visitors. We ask each vendor to plan for about 1,200 trick-or-treaters.

Most participants provide workers to hand out treats on behalf of their business/organization. However, please let us know if you’re unable to supply a worker and HealthTrust will make sure that a volunteer works your booth for the event. We’ve often heard booth workers claim to have as much fun passing out the treats as the children do when receiving them! Each vendor is asked to stay from 4:45 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. as the parents and kids are expecting Treat Street to start at 5:00 p.m. Year after year, crowds are lined up waiting anxiously for the gates to open so the Halloween fun can begin!

HealthTrust’s goal is to enhance Treat Street and make it more exciting with each passing year. In addition to the best trick-or-treating experience in our area, this year’s Treat Street will also include a Varity of activities for the children.

We are thankful for your participation and look forward to seeing you there! Tos sign up or for additional information please contact Pam Wallace, Director of Community Services, Magee General Hospital, 601-849-7309(office) or 601-382-2983 (cell).
