Treasurer Fitch and College Savings Mississippi Award Two Newborns $529 MACS Scholarships

Jackson, MS. State Treasurer Lynn Fitch and College Savings Mississippi welcomed two lucky newborns into the world, on Sunday, May 29, 2016, with $529 Mississippi Affordable College Savings (MACS) Plan scholarships. The infants were winners of the 529 Day Baby Promotion, a contest sponsored by College Savings Mississippi to celebrate National 529 College Savings Day.

“I am grateful for the support we have received from hospitals and their staff across the state for helping us give two Mississippi newborns the gift of college savings,” said Treasurer Fitch. “It is never too early to start saving for college, and a MACS account is a gift that lasts a lifetime.”
