It is hard to believe but Gilbert would have been 80 today, May 31st.

Although we were only married for 9 months before his death, Gilbert gave me a new lease on life and the courage to “plow” ahead.  At this point in time, I had experienced many sad and heart retching situations….Gilbert gave me life again…and I will forever be grateful.

Happy Birthday to a Special Lady—Diane McPhail

Let’s Celebrate Diane McPhail turning 80!!!

July 8, 2026

His death almost sent me back to that “dark” place…but with the Lord, family, and friends…I held on to face the unknown future.

We never know…we never know from day to day what life brings.  But, I do know this…life is short…live.

Gilbert lived his years…he made them count…he loved his family…and he adored his friends…he was faithful in church and faithful in anything her undertook.

When Gilbert and I first started dating, he said to me “I just need to ask you something…I just need to ask you something”…well, I had no idea what he was talking about…so you know me “ask away”…his question was do you know how old I am.  Well, I didn’t…I had known him for years growing up in the store when he worked for Wilmut Gas and Oil and we collected for Wilmut…I was 55…so I said…62?  No…I said 65? No…well, by then I sure didn’t have any idea.  He looked at me and said I am 68….and I told him he was the best looking 68 year old man I had ever known!!!…and I am sure if Gilbert were alive now…he would be the best looking 80 year old I knew!

Happy Birthday!
