Thursday, November 9th at approximately 2:00 PM the Magee Police Department conducted a traffic stop in the area of Polk’s Gifts and Hughes Florist. Following the traffic stop, the area was closed to thru traffic.
According to Simpson County Sheriff Investigator Chris Wallace, the situation began Thursday morning in Simpson County Justice Court. A man was in court to pay fines when the Sheriff Department was informed by the Yazoo City Police Department that an active felony burglary warrant had been issued for the man.
The Simpson County Sheriff Department received a tip that a juvenile involved with the Yazoo City burglary was en route from Covington County to Magee. The Magee Police conducted a traffic stop and the juvenile was arrested and taken into custody by the Simpson County Sheriff’s Department.
