One of my mama’s dearest friends, Tootsie Edmonson, died Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at the age of 104!  Yes, Tootsie lived to be a 104!!!

There are so many things I loved about Tootsie.  I think most of all it was her smile and laughter. You did not see Tootsie without a smile or a giggle.  She was always smiling!  Tootsie was a life time member of First Baptist Church of Magee.  Diane McPhail met Tootsie every Sunday in her later years to assist Tootsie in getting out of the car.  (Not that she needed assisting…but like all of us…she loved the attention).  She faithfully attended church.  She lived in her  childhood home until she was probably 100!  Upon leaving Magee, Tootsie moved to Jackson to live with her son Richard.  She only went into an assisted living home about a year or so ago.

Everyone called her Tootsie!  I don’t think I ever heard anyone call her Mrs. Tootsie or Mrs. Edmonson!

Tootsie was a wonderful cook!  She loved piling her table full of goodies when her family visited.

Tootsie and her buddies played bridge all the time!  Those ladies, and sometimes a man or two, kept the cards hot.

Tootsie stories go on and on!  She worked at the library many years ago.

Everyone loved Tootsie!  I know she is dancing and laughing in heaven and playing bridge!

What a precious friend she was.   #ILoveTootsie

When her obituary is received, I will post.

(The main picture is of Tootsie in 2015.  I just love her in that blue dress!)

Mattye, Joe’s mother and Tootsie were the best of friends. They would call each other on Saturday to make plans to dress up and go to the Lawrence Welk show (on tv of course). They discussed what they were going to wear and where to sit. It was so funny and a lot of fun for two old friends. We all loved Tootsie and will miss her. Prayers🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
