Larry Thomas (Tommy) Thornton passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2016, at the age of 68.
He was born on January 1, 1948 to the ( late) James Muriel Thornton and Claudine (Tullos) Thornton.
Tommy proudly served in the United States Marine Corp. He was a retired butcher. Tommy was “papa” to many, and touched so many lives throughout his life.
He is survived by his daughter, Serena Michelle Hux (Barry); son, Christopher Thomas Thornton; brother, Merl Stanley Thornton and eight grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Richard Allen Thornton, James Edwin Thornton and sister, Peggy Ann Thornton.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 6, 2016, from 5-8 p.m. at Tutor Funeral Home in Magee. Services are scheduled for Friday, October 7, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. in the Tutor Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Ray Mann and Bro. David Hopkins will officiate. Final resting place will be in the Wiggins Cemetery in Carthage, MS.
