Timothy C. Dorsett

Timothy C. Dorsett passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026, at the age of 53. He was born on July 10, 1972, and lived in the Simpson County area most of his life.

He attended Mendenhall Elementary School before he moved to Millcreek of Magee. Tim was a resident at Boswell Regional Center for many years before he transitioned to Hillcrest Nursing Center, where he lived for the past five years.

Tim is survived by his mother, Suzanne Von Seutter Ferguson (Dusty) of Brookhaven; his father, David Dorsett (Rita) of Magee; and his two younger sisters, Tracy Pickering (Tal) of Collins and Amy Collins of Magee. He also has three nieces, Jacee, Paxtyn, and Brecken Collins, and three nephews, Blake and Garrett Robinson, and Cooper Collins, who will miss Tim’s infectious smile and laughter. In addition, he leaves many friends and extended family members.

To know Tim was to love him. He couldn’t go anywhere without running into someone he knew. Whenever that person came up to talk to him, we would ask, “Tim, do you know them?” He would nod ‘Yes” and say, “My Baby!”

Tim had a lifelong love of Police cars, fire trucks, and his bike. He also loved handling his cap guns and spent hours tearing his caps into individual pieces.

He was a Neat Freak! Don’t set down a glass and think you could leave it out of the kitchen sink! Don’t drop a piece of paper on the floor, either!

Visitation and services will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Tutor Funeral Home in Magee, MS, from 12:30 PM until 2:00. The celebration of Tim’s life will begin at 2:00 PM in the Tutor Chapel.

We would love for anyone who knew Tim or had a story about him to please come and share your memory. Tim’s least favorite color was black, so instead of mourning his passing, please wear your favorite color, and let’s celebrate his life.
