Tim Gray defeated Tameika Smith 2,328 to 962 in the run-off for Chancery Clerk of Simpson County.
The voter boxes came in at a fast and steady pace allowing a quick count available earlier than usual.
Once the election is certified, Gray will began service as the Chancery Clerk.
With 22 out of 22 precincts reporting, only 3,304 voted in the county which has 17,242 register voters.
The Gray-Smith election was the only race on the ballot.
