I am Tim Gray and I would like to announce my candidacy for re-election as Chancery Clerk of Simpson County. When I began this journey, I set out to reach as many Simpson Countians as I could. My goal was to introduce myself and answer whatever question arose about the office and my intentions. I was fortunate to meet many people who have supported me and helped to elect me as Chancery Clerk. I will be forever grateful!

The election last December was to fill the remainder of the term left after Mr. Tommy Joe Harvey retired early in 2022. Therefore, I was sworn into office on December 9, 2022 and qualified to run again on January 2 2023, about 3 weeks later.

I have lived in Simpson County most of my life. I attended Mendenhall High School along with my brothers Lavon and Duran and my sister Paige. My parents Paul Gray and Melissa “Nita” Berry Russum and my grandparents Mr. WC Thames & Mrs. Maggie Winningham Thames made sure that we learned to honor our Lord and instilled solid moral values in each of us. We spent a lot of time at Main Street Baptist Church in Mendenhall where I came to know the Lord in a special way and gave my life to HIM at the age of 13. I have been married to Donna Guess Gray, originally from Georgetown, MS for 30 years and we have been blessed with two wonderful daughters Mackenzie Gray (26) and Macie Gray (21).

City of Magee Board of Aldermen June 15, 2026 Agenda

June 15, 2026

I have been involved in local government for about 18 years. I served as Alderman at Large for the City of Mendenhall for 14 years. I have also been blessed to serve in different capacities on many committees, boards, and affiliations over the years. In these roles I have been very successful in helping the teams that I work with to define the challenges and draft plans to achieve their goals.

As Chancery Clerk, I have tried to lead with integrity, honesty, and dependability that would make all citizens of Simpson County proud. I humbly ask that you to allow me to continue serving you by casting your vote for Tim Gray on November 7th!
