AUSTIN, Texas – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) organization announced the honorees of the Academic All-American program on Tuesday, July 16 and Wednesday, July 17. Co-Lin had three Lady Wolves earn First Team Academic All-American honors as Zykeria Cole, Madison Moak, and Abby Grace Richardson were named to the College Division At-Large Team. This award represents the highest academic honor a student-athlete can receive from any national organization.
Co-Lin was the only school within the College Division with three players selected as members of the First Team and had the second-most players selected amongst the 20 players chosen. Players within the MACCC made up exactly half of the list with ten players selected between four schools.
Zykeria Cole, a native of Magee, was the primary first baseman for the Lady Wolves and was second on the team in doubles with 19. Zykeria was third on the team in RBIs with 45 and fourth in home runs with five while also accounting for 43 runs scored. She carried a .352 batting average, .397 on-base percentage, and .566 slugging percentage throughout the season while also posting a .969 fielding percentage on her team-leading 254 total defensive chances with 223 putouts, 23 assists, and eight errors while being a part of ten double plays throughout the season. During her time at Co-Lin, Zykeria was an NJCAA Division II National Champion, Region 23 Softball Champion, MACCC Champion, All-MACCC Honorable Mention. Cole also finished her two years academically with a 4.0 GPA.
Madison Moak, a native of Brookhaven, led the Lady Wolves and the MACCC in batting average this season at .503 while also leading the team in hits at 94. The University of Southern Mississippi signee was second on the team in home runs at 16 while leading the team in double, triples, RBIs, and stolen bases with 22, 12, 69 and 19 respectively. She also had the second highest on-base percentage on the team at .546 and the highest slugging percentage at 1.005 while posting a perfect fielding percentage with no errors on 69 defensive chances posting 66 putouts and three assists and was part of one double play while playing centerfield. Moak also broke the single season and career hits records (157) this season. In her time at Co-Lin, Madison was an NJCAA Division II National Champion, Two-time All-MACCC First Team & All-Region 23 Team, Two-time NJCAA All-Tournament Team, 2024 NJCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Offensive Player, 2024 NFCA All-South Region, All-American First Team, & Rawlings Gold Glove Award, 2024 NJCAA First Team All-American. Moak also finished her two years academically with 3.88 GPA.
Abby Grace Richardson, a native of Brookhaven, was second on the Lady Wolves in batting average this season at .444. She led the team in home runs at 22 home runs while her 65 RBIs and 14 stolen bases are second-most on the team. She led the team in on-base percentage at .604 and was second in slugging percentage at 1.000. Her team leading 55 walks is third in the NJCAA. This season, the Mississippi State University signee broke the career RBI and home run records as well as the single season and career walks records in addition to holding the single season home run and RBI records from her freshman year. She had .931 fielding percentage with 12 errors on 174 defensive chances with 99 putouts and 63 assists while being part of seven double plays. In her time at Co-Lin, AG was an NJCAA Division II National Champion, 2024 MACCC Player of the Year, three-time MACCC
player of the Week, two-time NJCAA Third Team All-American, NJCAA Tournament MVP &
Most Outstanding Offensive Player, two-time First Team All-MACCC & All-Region 23, NFCA
All-South Region and First Team All-American. Richardson also finished her two years academically with a 3.80 GPA.
Based on available records, this marks the first time that Co-Lin has had a women’s Academic All-American honoree since the 2018-19 season when Harmoni Ashley was recognized. This is also the first-time in school history that Co-Lin has had multiple winners in one season and brings the total number of Lady Wolves to win the honor to four.
