A threat was made to Magee High School by phone Monday morning. The MHS administration immediately contacted the Magee Police Department who in turn called the Sheriff’s Department for assistance. ( I have since been told the threat came into the Magee Police Department who in turn informed the school)

According to administrative policy, students were escorted from the high school building to the football field with all perimeters being secured. The students remained at the football field until the Magee High School building was checked.  The building has been checked and cleared for occupation.  Students are back in the high school building in class.

Students from the Tech Center who were  bused back to MHS campus following tech classes were not allowed to unload  or enter the area surrounding Magee School.

The Sheriff’s Department secured the perimeters of the entire campus blocking off all entries to the campus.

An unidentified source said the threat was not a bomb threat but a threat of coming in with a gun.

The Magee Police as well as the SO are tracing the phone call.

When the person or persons who made the call is identified, the person or persons will be prosecuted to the fullest.

Follow up information should be available from the police department later in the day.
