Thomas Hester, 84, passed away on August 29, 2017, at his residence. He was born on April 20, 1933, to Glenn Hester and Lizzie (Butler) Hester.
Thomas retired from a career as a maintenance mechanic.
Thomas is survived by two sons: Thomas James Hester and Mike Moody; five daughters: Annette, Deborah, Patricia, Lisa Moody and Lynn Moody; his brother, Jerry Hester, and wife, Patricia; his sister, Betty Best; seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by brothers: Jacob Tindall Hester, Franklin Preston Hester, Edward Lee Hester, and sisters, Ruby Cooley, Hazel Shaw, Pauline Scoggin and Dimple Hutchinson.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Tutor Funeral Home in Magee. Services will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Tutor Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tyson Windom officiating. Interment will be in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Providence Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, C/O Royce Craft, 1824 Hwy 28, Mize, MS 39116.
Arrangements are entrusted with Tutor Funeral Home of Magee.
