Copiah-Lincoln Community College had 13 athletes earn NJCAA Academic Student-Athlete Awards. The awards are given on three levels, exemplary academic achievement (3.60-3.79 GPA), superior achievement (3.80-3.99 GPA), and pinnacle achievement (4.0 GPA). Four athletes earned the Pinnacle Award for Academic Excellence. These are, Brandi McInnis, a sophomore tennis player from Wesson, Braxton Hinton, a sophomore tennis player from Brookhaven, Lauren Brashier, a sophomore softball player from Laurel, and Se’Edriq Middleton, a sophomore soccer player from Roxie. An additional four athletes earned the Superior Academic Achievement Award. These include, Gregory Nickles, a sophomore football player from Pelahatchie, Greta Carley a sophomore softball player from Columbia, Madison Warren a sophomore tennis player from Brookhaven, and Lee Smith a sophomore baseball player from Hattiesburg. Five players rounded out the academic awards by receiving the Exemplary Academic Achievement Award. Winners are, Austin Douglas a sophomore baseball player from Mount Olive, Tanner Jones a sophomore baseball player from Brandon, Paxton Sims a sophomore football player from Ackerman, Zachary Williams a sophomore football player from Lena, and Kamry Creel a sophomore softball player from McComb.
All of these athletes not only excelled on the field for the Wolves, but also in the classroom. They strived to be true student-athletes and better themselves in all aspects during their times at Co-Lin. The Co-Lin Athletic Department and staff could not be more proud of these students on their extraordinary accomplishments.
