By James Davis
The Scriptural passage chosen for today is found in Acts 3:19: “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.” The apostle knew the message Jesus entrusted to him must be preached continually in order to spread God’s earthly kingdom. The early Christians needed the encouragement and support the visits and epistles the various apostles provided. Of course, the early Christians were looking for Jesus to make a triumphal return during their lifetimes. We today are still looking for His return, although we know that God’s timetable is far different from man’s. No one knows the day nor the hour, not even the angels in Heaven, but we are to remain watchful and ready by living lives of daily repentance and refreshing newness of life. Let us be found living as if today might be the day for the Lord’s return. Amen!
Happy Monday! “When all of earth shall pass away, there’ll always be the love of God,” as the gospel song proclaims.
