The Scriptural passage selected for today is found in Romans 8:1-2: “There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus, the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.” The apostle is telling the early Christians that through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, we who have repented of our sins and have accepted Him as our Lord and Savior are no longer condemned, but, rather, we are assured of life everlasting. We have been set free like a bird out of prison. I love Bill Gaither’s gospel song “I’m Free.” The chorus is especially poignant to me: “I’m free from the guilt of tomorrow. I’m free from the guilt of the past. I’ve traded my shackles for a glorious song. I’m free, praise the Lord, free at last.” Amen!
Let us purpose in our hearts today to share with others the love, joy, and kindness with which Jesus has imbued us. We are to be different from those who do not know Jesus. We are to strive to be more like Him; therefore, let’s freely show those attributes of Jesus each and every day.
Happy Friday!
