The threat of rain all week did no deter the turn of the tassel.
The threat of rain would not dampen the spirits of the Magee High School Class of 2016. With many prayers, the rain cleared the skies and allowed the graduation to take place on Trojan Field.
The Magee High School Band performed several selections of music before graduation. DSC_2033
The graduates entered the filed in two single filed lines to Pomp and Circumstance by the Mage High School Band.  The emotions of joy, excitement and tears was shown on the faces of the parents as they watch their children close one chapter of their life  and open another one.DSC_2039The invocation was given by Senior Class Representative, Carianne White.
Principal, Pete Howell, welcome everyone to the nights event.
DSC_2042Trevor Maddox, Class Historian, gave the history of the class from Kindergarten to present.
DSC_2045Next was the Salutatorian Speech. This was a very emotional speech given by Lauren Grantham.
Kyle Curlee, Valedictorian, gave the final speech of the evening from the students.  The Valedictorian Address was a look back on time and a thank you to the faculty and a charge to the student body to be successful. Kyle Speech ended with a quote form Yoda “Do or do not there is no try.”DSC_2048
Principal Pete Howell introduced the Special Speaker for the evening  Darein Spann. Mr. Spann is an English Teacher at Magee High School and was selected as District Teacher of the Year.
Special Recognition was given by Dr. Antionette Woodall followed by Wanda Glisson giving special senior recognition.
Wanda Glisson, Counselor, presented the Class of 2016, and Principal Pete Howell and Assistant Principal Dr. Antionette Woodall presented diplomas.
The Benediction was given by Caleb Lee, Student Body President.
The Class of 2016 would exit to the south end zone for the tossing of the caps, finalizing the graduation ceremonies.
Magee High School Class of 2016 would be the final class of the county to graduate and end the 2016 school year.

Class Color:  Red and Black
Class Moto: “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” – Eleanor Roosevelt
Class Song:  “When I See You Again” Charlie Puth and Wiz Khalifa
Hall of Fame”  Kyle Curlee, Jessica Sanford, Demetrius Gray, Ashlynn Walker and Caleb Lee.
Congratulations Class of 2016. Can not wait to see what the future holds for you!
