Bruce Lewis paid me a visit today with an update on plans for the old McCarty Hatchery. Bruce purchased the building several years ago. He is been waiting until certain things lined-up before he began the renovation. Well, everything has lined-up and Bruce has begun his latest project.
Bruce’s new business will be called “The Old Hatchery.” The business will house booths for individuals to rent and sell their wares as well as a full service fruit stand and nursery. Bruce has big plans for items for sale that will be housed in the building.
As a collector, Bruce has been preparing for this day for along time. He has a huge “stash” of merchandise he will sell in the business.
The first step to the Old Hatchery is putting a roof on the building. Bruce plans to begin this week if weather permits.
Hopefully, the Old Hatchery will open in the Spring. I will post updates. I always love seeing new businesses coming to Magee. Bruce has continued to promote business in Magee.
For “new” folks, the Old Hatchery is located on Highway 149 near Murphy Machine Shop.
